We have been asked to review the Long Paws Poop Porter. The Poop Porter is a small lightweight rubber disc with a large karabiner in one corner. The karabiner can be used to clip the Poop Porter to a bag, lead or even a belt. The disc has 2 holes in it, a small hole in which you can wedge new folded poo bags and a large hole which is the perfect size to slip the knot of a used poo bag through, to carry it until you find the nearest bin.

I had never seen anything like this before and as I quite often seem to end up carrying a used poo bag around I was keen to try it out. The Poop Porter arrived just before bank holiday weekend which gave me the perfect opportunity to put it to the test as we had lots of adventures planned.

When I walk my two Cavapoos Rodney & Mabel, I generally take a bag with me as I like to be well equipped with water, treats, balls, camera, etc. I therefore was easily able to clip the Poop Porter onto my bag. It is mainly black and is smart looking so it blended in quite nicely. It is also very lightweight so didn’t make a difference to the weight of the bag.

We mainly walk in woodland and along public footpaths and the bins tend to be at the beginning and end of our walks so if they decide to do their business in between, which chances are they generally do, I’m stuck carrying a poo bag as it’s not something that I would like to put in my bag or pocket for fear of it splitting.

On our first walk equipped with the Poop Porter it didn’t take long for it to come into its own and it was super easy to slide the knot of the bag through the hole. I was slightly concerned that the used poo bag was going to dangle and hit against my side as I walked however with it positioned correctly on my bag this did not happen. The knot also fitted through securely so I really could just forget it was there and it was again super easy to remove the poo bag when we found the next bin and I was able to dispose of it completely. On another of our adventures I actually ended up with 2 used poo bags, this was a not a problem for the Poop Porter as it easily carried the 2 bags and I reckon could even carry a couple more.

Overall I am really impressed with the Poop Porter, it is such a simple idea but is so effective. I loved that even after the dogs had done their business I could keep my hands free and enjoy the dog walk without a smelly bag to carry. I did also try clipping the Poop Porter directly onto the lead handle, this worked great too and is brilliant on summer days when you have no pockets as you can also tuck new poo bags into it too.

The only negative I can say about the Poop Porter is that it is so easy and convenient that on one of our walks when it was clipped to my bag I completely forgot that I had a poo bag hanging on there and ended up bringing it home!

I would highly recommend this product and it has already become an essential addition to our dog walks. Thank you Long Paws.
